Hybrid and remote IT roles in the UK
How to read work-arrangement details and decide what pattern suits your next technology role.

Remote does not always mean fully remote
Some adverts say remote but still expect occasional office days, team events, or UK time-zone overlap. Read the listing carefully and confirm expectations at interview. WEB JOBS listings can show remote or hybrid arrangements, including onsite days per week or month where recruiters provide them.
Hybrid patterns that usually work well
Common patterns include 2–3 days onsite, or a set number of days each month. Choose based on the type of work: pairing-heavy engineering teams may benefit from more office time, while deep-focus roles often suit fewer commute days.
When comparing offers, factor travel cost and time into the total package — especially if salary looks similar between two roles.
